Harrods Knightsbridge, England, United Kingdom Overview Our Store Operations team is seeking a Cleaning Operations Manager to lead the delivery of exceptional service standards within our Knightsbridge store on a 12 month fixed term contract. You will oversee the daily operational delivery of cleaning, waste and support services, and drive continuous improvement through data, trends and problem-solving. This role involves taking ownership of essential operational services in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where attention to detail, team leadership and service excellence are key. You will directly line manage two Assistant Managers and oversee a team of 55 (Supervisors and Operatives) to ensure services meet specifications, run efficiently and reflect the highest standards of quality, health and safety. Responsibilities

Manage operational services to maintain exceptional standards across the store. Carry out regular inspections, monitor contractor performance and address issues promptly. Respond to customer complaints or concerns within 24 hours and ensure swift resolution. Oversee waste management processes, including correct disposal and liaison with contractors. Support the Senior Manager in reviewing service specifications, productivity and process improvements. Manage financial controls, including stock, equipment, payroll and overtime reconciliation. Ensure compliance with fire, safety and company health and safety policies. Plan and approve staff rotas and leave to maintain full coverage of operational needs. Attend meetings and manage logistics for additional functions and store events. Ensure accurate documentation of departmental records and service metrics.

Note: This role works 5 days out of 7 on a shift pattern. Afternoon shift is 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm. You will also need to work every 1 in 3 weekends on a day shift as part of the Management rota. About You You will be a service-focused leader with experience managing large operational teams in a customer-facing, high-profile environment. You will be solutions-oriented, organised and confident in leading both people and processes.

Have previous experience in facilities, cleaning, or operational management. Be confident managing teams and motivating others to maintain high service standards. Demonstrate a strong understanding of compliance, health and safety and risk management. Be capable of handling multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Show confidence in managing customer expectations and resolving concerns quickly. Have good PC literacy and be comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word and Excel in particular). Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and time-management skills. Display flexibility and adaptability in line with changing business demands.
