A vacancy has arisen for a Plant Machinery Cleaner to join our team within our operations and cleaning of a Biomass handling & storage facility contract at the Port of Tyne.
The Plant Machinery Cleaner role exists to undertake the Industrial Cleaning of plant and equipment via hose pipes for washing and compressed air lines for blow down.
Hargreaves Industrial Services provide an operation, and cleaning service to our client at the Port of Tyne Biomass handling facility.
We are responsible for the safe movements and handling of Biomass following discharge from vessels and the dispatch of loaded rail wagons within the Port.
The role briefly encompasses the following duties: -
Wash/Blow down cleaning of Operational plant and equipmentEnsure cleaning area is maintained to a clean standardRecord cleaning tasks on VEHOCHECK for complianceUnderstanding of Safe Working Procedures.Attend any meetings or training sessions as requiredAny other related cleaning duties as requested by the ManagerThe ideal candidate will be a good communicator and must have a good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplaceThe successful candidate will also be required to support secondary roles within the operation – Examples below (training will be provided)General industrial cleaning of the operational areasTrain loading/watchmanFEL operationsHopper operationsBiomass material condition monitoringThe successful candidate will be required to have the following skills: -
IOSHH working safely (Min standard – training given)Experience of industrial cleaning within a materials handling environmentPrevious experience working within a Biomass handling environment (Desirable)IPAF licence (Desirable)Experience with using fixed and portable vacuum systems.COMPEX training desirable however training will be availablePositive attitude to safetyWork at Height using MEWPAble to undertake duties involving heavy manual labourAble to communicate well at all levelsFlexible approach to workA strong team playerAbility to work independently and on own initiativeGood time keeping and willing to work overtime as necessaryAble to share knowledge and skills with other Hargreaves personnelAbility to populate, use and keep documented records as part of the role.
