About The Role

We are currently recruiting for Rail Depot Manager (Cleaning) to join our passionate and driven team based at our client’s site. This role will involve travelling between and working across two depots: Longsight, Manchester and Edge Hill, Liverpool.

Working hours: Monday to Friday Nights, weekends as required by business needs, 21:00-05:00. A driving licence is required as this role involves travel.

Key responsibilities

  • Accountability for all financial overtime and stock control within your location.
  • Work collaboratively with all employees in your location and across OCS where applicable; champion change, implement new policies and processes, and advocate new ways of working to ensure buy-in.
  • Lead the effective operational delivery and facilitation of all services within your location.
  • Liaise closely with Supervisors, Team Leaders and staff to ensure common service delivery standards and collaborative working.
  • Work with the Senior Operations Manager to review and implement new initiatives, legislation, and changes internal and external.
  • Authorise expenditure as agreed by the Account Director.
  • Ensure budgets and expenditure for your location are robustly monitored through regular reviews and stock spot checks.
  • Provide regular reports (Daily Report / Equipment / Night Report / Cabin Trackers / Additional Work / Overtime / Stock / Training Records) to the Senior Operations Manager.
  • Interface with clients, service providers and stakeholders to ensure expectations are met and additional services can be supported.
  • Lead and own liaison with supervisors and teams to supply required staffing and fulfil contract and service requirements.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Right to work in the UK
  • A proven track record in cleaning service delivery; experience in train presentation or in a high-standard retail cleaning environment would be a good fit.
  • Experience of implementing, reviewing, and achieving safety, quality, time and cost standards.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to operate and build credibility with employees
  • Excellent diplomacy skills with the confidence and resilience to handle potential conflict situations.
  • Willingness to travel to sites across the contract region at short notice.
  • Good IT skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer
  • Organisational skills for meeting deadlines and supporting others to do so
  • Recognised Health and Safety qualifications e.g. IOSH

Due to the working environment, you will be required to complete a track safety awareness course and drug and alcohol screening prior to starting in this role.
