Overview

In your new role as Supervisor, you'll be working within a warehouse environment as part of our cleaning and waste team. You will supervise/operate specific equipment, cleaning practices and use of chemicals to the correct operational guidelines. Your duties include carrying out daily and weekly checks of all machinery, reporting faults to the Site Manager, ensuring that Health & Safety is understood and adhered to, liaising with the Site Manager in shift operation, and helping monitor the waste produced using weekly checklists and monitoring procedures. All equipment will need to be reviewed, kept clean, and equipment and materials left secured when not in use. You will undertake cleaning and ad-hoc duties as needed, deal with customer complaints, attend appropriate training sessions, and ensure awareness of the company/client statutory fire and safety regulations.

Salary: £13.85 / hour
Hours: 8 hours / day
Shift pattern: 8 am to 4 pm, 4 on / 2 off
Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Supervise/operate equipment and cleaning practices and the use of chemicals following operational guidelines.
  • Carry out daily and weekly checks of all machinery; report faults to the Site Manager.
  • Ensure Health & Safety is understood and adhered to; liaise with the Site Manager in shift operation.
  • Monitor waste using weekly checklists and monitoring procedures.
  • Review and keep equipment clean; ensure equipment and materials are secured when not in use.
  • Undertake cleaning and ad-hoc duties as required by the business needs.
  • Deal with customer complaints and attend appropriate training sessions.
  • Ensure awareness of Company/Client fire and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisor experience; good customer focus and service skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively and good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work from own initiative; good awareness of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Communicative English is essential; you may be required to take an English language assessment.
  • Required to complete the Basic Disclosure (DBS Check) and undertake a drug and alcohol screening test.
