Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre is the UK's first all-electric immigration removal centre, managed on behalf of the Home Office by Mitie Care & Custody. We are seeking a proactive and experienced manager to lead on monitoring, assurance, and improvement activities, ensuring the Centre consistently delivers to the highest standards while embedding social value at the heart of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Training and developing the cleaning / housekeeping team
  • Coordinate all work assignments
  • Inspect and audit completed work
  • Must have good interpersonal attributes
  • Must possess excellent communication skills in speaking, writing and listening
  • Must have the ability and willingness to work as part of a team as well as lead
  • Responsible for keeping the team encouraged and motivated
  • Perform all other duties as required
  • Be flexible in your approach to duties
  • Working within a prison environment
  • On occasion the cleaning of body fluids (Blood, urine and faeces)

Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Follow group and company policies and procedures at all times
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
  • Report any issues or training needs to your line manager and/or via the divisional incident reporting system

Person Specification

  • Previous cleaning experience would be an advantage
  • Strong supervisory skills, ability to designate responsibilities
