• Position: Cleaning Operative

• Pay: £ per hour

• Hours: 20 hours per week

• Working Pattern: Mon-Fri - (weekend work which is business depending)

• 37 week position

At Edinburgh Academy Schools, our ambition is clear: we want our pupils to be happy, confident, and successful—ready to take on the world. Working in partnership with Sodexo, we are now seeking an experienced and passionate Cleaning Operative to help us deliver exceptional service in line with our ethos.  Your responsibility is to ensure the site’s overall appearance shines each day by providing outstanding cleaning services, keeping the surroundings safe and hygienic for everyone. Your enthusiasm and dedication will influence those around you, making a positive impact on our community. What you’ll do:

• Pay close attention to the details and complete the cleaning tasks on your scheduled list.
• Undertake all required training in relation to all aspects of the cleaning service delivered to the client, as requested.
• Complete a schedule of cleaning tasks, as directed by the Team Leader / Cleaning Supervisor
• Wear the company uniform at all times whilst at work 
• Wear any items of personal protective equipment, as specified by the Team Leader / Cleaning Supervisor
• Comply to all client policies / procedures in relation to housekeeping / infection control / security
• Ensure that all requirements in relation to COSHH are adhered to, as specified by the Team Leader / Cleaning Supervisor
• The method of conducting all cleaning tasks is as directed via the Great / cleaning offer task cards / pictorial task cards 
• Ensure that the site/cleaning offer colour coding policy is adhered to at all times
• Ensure that all requirements of the specified cleaning offer, are carried out, as directed by the Team Leader / Cleaning Supervisor 
• To report all faults in relation to cleaning machinery/equipment to the Team Leader / Cleaning Supervisor
•  To report all building defects to the Team Leader / Cleaning Supervisor
• To carry out any reasonable request, as specified by the Team Leader / Cleaning Supervisor 

What you bring:

• Previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge of cleaning solutions and their uses
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
• The ability to work quickly and adapt when circumstances change
• Be a team player and follow instruction
  • NVQ level 1 Cleaning Services
