Job Description:
Role Overview Help keep the centre clean, safe, and welcoming by supporting with cleaning, bedding, and meals.
Weekend work and flexibility required. Location: Based in Chelmsford applicants must live in or near the area.
Perform general cleaning duties throughout the centre, following Islington Councils health and safety policies. Support the catering team with meal preparation, serving, and cleaning up (including washing utensils and crockery).
Wash, iron, and change bedding for site users. Complete council-funded training in Child Protection and Food Hygiene, and keep certifications up to date.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. Contribute to the Common Assessment Framework as needed, working collaboratively with internal and external teams.
Use IT systems efficiently to support daily tasks. Participate in training, meetings, and supervision sessions to support your development.
Uphold the councils commitment to customer service excellence and equality. Ensure compliance with data protection and health and safety legislation. Carry out duties in line with the Councils Dignity for All policy.
Essential: Experience in domestic duties Willingness to train in food hygiene Teamwork and ability to work independently Understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries Good communication skills Commitment to equality and customer service Able to pass a basic literacy test
