Role: Cleaner Location: Brighton Employer: University of Sussex Rate of pay: £12.60 per hour Platinum Recruitment are currently assisting The University of Sussex and we have an opportunity for a full time Office Cleaner to assist them on a temporary basis through 15th September- 31st December. The shift patterns are:- Monday - Friday 06:00 - 10:00 Monday - Friday 18:00 - 22:00 You must be available to work the full duration of the assignment (will any reasonable pre-booked leave/appointments accounted for). Excellent customer service skills are essential, and you should be able to move loads of up to 10 kg in accordance with health and safety guidelines. Experience as a Cleaner is preferred. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A BASIC DBS CHECK PRIOR TO STARTING THIS ROLE (ONE CAN BE CARRIED OUT AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE £21.50) Key Responsibilities: Deep clean office spaces, including desks, kitchens, bathrooms, and communal areas, using appropriate equipment.
Replenish supplies such as hand towels, soap, and paper products.
Ensure correct and safe use of cleaning equipment and materials, following all health and safety regulations.
Collect and return security keys as required.
Report any defects, hazards, or incidents immediately to management (e.g., building issues, emergencies, accidents, or health and safety concerns).
General Expectations: Provide excellent customer service and care. Work efficiently and professionally as a Cleaner. Support a positive experience for staff, students and visitors.
