Glen Group are seeking a highly motivated, Permanent, Full-Time Cleaning Area Manager to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with experience in People Management, Scheduling and Client Relations, looking to progress their career within a supportive company.

Due to continued growth, Glen Group Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced Area Cleaning Manager based in Edinburgh, overseeing the daily operations of currently 8 prestigious commercial sites. This portfolio is growing.

Portfolio: 3 sites in Edinburgh daytime and evening cleaning; 3 sites in Glasgow morning/evening cleaning; 1 site in Dundee; 1 site in Aberdeen.

This also comes with an Area Supervisor for assistance.

About the role

  • Health & Safety management of cleaning staff.
  • Resolving issues raised by the client in a professional and timely manner.
  • Training of new starters and refresher training for the current team.
  • Client liaison to ensure satisfaction ensuring service delivery in accordance with SLA.
  • Performance management of staff.
  • Recruitment.
  • Payroll.
  • PAT Testing and training.
  • Proactive Cover planning/Cleaning (hands on).
  • Lead and advise the team in managing absence and holiday records including sickness and annual leave for all colleagues.
  • Carry out and manage audits to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safe environment is always evident throughout the sites.
  • Ensure adequate quality performance measures (KPI’s/SLA’s) are adhered to and any non‑compliance is resolved in a professional manner with clear plans and next steps visible to all.
  • Ensure strict compliance to the Data Protection Act, GDPR and associated regulations.

About you

You will hold a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the cleaning industry and possess excellent customer service and people management skills. With an ability to manage your own time, to visit sites and staff who work early and late. Experience of HR/disciplinary processes and reasonable IT skills. You will also hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to undergo and pass an enhanced DBS check.
