Role Overview

Berkeley Scott is currently recruiting DBS Cleaners to work across hospitals and care homes in the Bristol area. This role is ideal for reliable, detail-oriented cleaners who take pride in maintaining high hygiene and safety standards. You’ll play a key part in supporting healthcare and care environments by ensuring all areas are clean, sanitised, and safe for staff, patients, and residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out thorough cleaning duties across wards, communal areas, restrooms, and staff facilities.

  • Maintain high hygiene standards in line with NHS and care sector cleaning protocols.

  • Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively in accordance with COSHH regulations.

  • Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, and sanitiser.

  • Dispose of waste safely and appropriately.

  • Follow cleaning schedules and report any maintenance or health and safety concerns.

  • Work independently while adhering to site security and infection control procedures.

    • Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS certificate (essential).

  • Previous professional cleaning experience — ideally in hospitals, care homes, or similar environments.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

  • High attention to detail and strong awareness of hygiene and safety standards.

  • Good communication and time management skills.

  • Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role.

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK and able to provide valid documentation.

  • Plain black polo shirt

  • Black trousers

  • Black safety shoes
