probationary 12 months Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Contract Cleaning Manager to oversee and manage our cleaning contracts across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of cleanliness, managing cleaning staff, coordinating resources, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This role requires excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills to ensure seamless service delivery that meets and exceeds client expectations. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day cleaning operations across multiple sites, ensuring all contractual obligations are met. Conduct regular site inspections to maintain high standards and identify areas for improvement. Develop cleaning schedules, manage work orders, and adjust resources to meet fluctuating demands. Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate cleaning staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Ensure all employees are properly trained on safety standards, cleaning protocols, and equipment usage. Manage shift schedules, monitor attendance, and coordinate replacements as needed. Ensure that all staff are working the correct shift patterns. Client Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction. Proactively seek feedback to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations and identify opportunities to enhance service. Carry out audits at each site with the client to discuss service quality, recommend additional services and identify issues or upcoming requirements. Quality Control & Compliance: Implement quality assurance measures to maintain the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies across all sites. Develop and enforce cleaning standards, conduct spot checks, and ensure any identified issues are promptly addressed. Check equipment regularly to ensure damaged equipment is returned to the office for repair, or is replaced. Budget & Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control, ensuring adequate supplies of cleaning materials and equipment. Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide input on new products and equipment that would increase efficiency. Work with the accounts department to prepare annual cost increases to take into account NLW increases. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit weekly visit reports detailing actions completed on site. Prepare and submit monthly site audits, ideally with the client present. Fully documenting standards throughout the site. Feed back to the management team on a regular basis. Maintain accurate records of all cleaning activities, incident reports, and client communications. Utilize technology and Simpro software as necessary to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Visit potential clients and develop leads. o
Discuss cleaning requirements with clients, creating a bespoke cleaning specification for their needs and budget. o
Distribute promotional materials and cold call selected businesses to advertise our services. Survey Works o
To visit any contract sites and ad hoc works sites for our clients, surveying the customers requirements, measuring the dimensions of the site as necessary. o
Knowledge to recommend the appropriate equipment, products and labour hours to complete the task. Qualifications: Proven experience in a management role within the cleaning or facilities management industry. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain positive client relationships. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and cleaning management software. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the cleaning industry. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant certifications in cleaning management or health and safety (e.g., BICS, IOSH). Experience managing multi-site operations. Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, with potential for performance-based bonus.
