Job Purpose

To provide a high standard of cleanliness throughout the school site, ensuring a safe, hygienic and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Clean classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets and other school facilities to a high standard.

*

Sweep, mop, vacuum and polish floors as required.

*

Empty bins and dispose of waste safely.

*

Clean internal windows, doors and glass panels.

*

Replenish soap, towels and other consumables.

*

Report any maintenance issues, hazards or health & safety concerns to the Site Manager or line manager promptly.

*

Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are used and stored safely and securely.

*

Follow the school’s health, safety and safeguarding procedures at all times.

*

Work flexibly to support special events or deep cleans during holidays if required.

Person Specification

Essential:

*

Experience of cleaning in a workplace environment (or willingness to learn).

*

Awareness of health & safety and safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

*

Reliable, punctual and able to maintain confidentiality.

Desirable:

*

Previous experience cleaning in a school or similar environment.

*

Knowledge of COSHH regulations.

Working Hours

Typically term-time only, with early morning or late afternoon shifts (exact hours negotiable). Some flexibility may be required to support school events or deep cleans during holidays
