The Role
The Cleaner in Charge (CIC) is responsible for inducting, training, leading, and managing cleaning staff including relief staff; monitoring and ordering stock supplies within your budget; maintenance and stocktake of cleaning equipment; undertaking cleaning of allocated internal and external areas; opening and locking the school, including setting the security alarm system.
The successful applicant should ideally have experience in supervising staff, as they will work alongside school staff, have good attention to detail and will be able to work well with others to ensure a clean and safe school environment. You should ideally be organised, reliable and punctual. The successful applicant should ideally work well both individually and as part of a team and have excellent knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods, and practices. The CIC will be required to manage staff performance in consultation with the Manager Corporate Services. In addition, the ClC will liaise with the Manager Corporate Services on all cleaning matters and record and respond to issues and concerns.
